Sand Creek Goes Global This Holiday Season

Sand Creek students traveled the world this week without ever leaving the classroom.
As part of a global holidays project, students were divided into four groups representing Israel, Italy, Australia, and France. Each team researched the holidays celebrated in their assigned country this time of year and brought their learning to life with flags, decorations, traditional foods, games, and oral presentations focused on cultural traditions.
The project offered a hands-on way for students to explore global cultures while strengthening research, collaboration, and presentation skills.
“This project allowed our students to learn beyond the classroom and truly appreciate traditions from around the world,” said Sand Creek Principal Michael Marohn. “It was wonderful to see their curiosity, creativity, and pride as they shared what they learned with their classmates.”
From culture to cuisine, Sand Creek students showed that meaningful learning can also be fun when the world becomes the classroom.
