Supporting our Families

Supporting our Colonie Families

headshot superintendent perryAt South Colonie, we understand that many in our community are facing difficult times. Our goal is to ensure that every family knows where to turn for help and feels supported throughout the year.

Schools across the district are working together to assist families in need through donation collections, holiday drives, and our weekly backpack program, which provides food and essential items to students and families.

If your family could benefit from food or resource assistance, the following supports are available:

Resources for Families

  • Your child’s school: Each building has staff ready to connect families with local supports. Contact information for each school can be found on the schools landing pages.

  • South Colonie CSD Registrar’s Office: Email registration@scolonie.org or call 518-869-3576 for assistance.

  • SNAP Hotline: Call 518-447-7620 for help applying for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits.

  • Regional Food Pantries Lookup: Local food pantries can provide ongoing food support to families in need.

  • South Colonie Food Service: Through New York’s Universal School Meals program, the South Colonie Food Service Department will continue to provide free breakfast and lunch to all students at no cost to families.

Together, we can ensure every member of our Wolf Pack community feels cared for and supported.

Sincerely,
Dr. David Perry
