Welcoming Future Leaders: New Educators Begin Their Journey at South Colonie

During the week of August 11, the South Colonie Central School District welcomed 35 new instructional staff members through a comprehensive orientation program aimed at fostering reflection, sparking meaningful conversations, and aligning new educators with the district’s core values.
With a strong focus on integrating new staff into the South Colonie school community, the program addressed a wide range of topics—from balancing academic rigor with whole-child support to the importance of showing up each day ready to make a difference. Instructional strategies and technology tools were also spotlighted to equip educators with innovative approaches as they prepare to launch the 2025-26 school year.
"It's truly an exciting time as we extend a warm welcome to our new staff members here at South Colonie,” said Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources and Safe Schools Christopher Robilotti. “Each new educator brings a unique perspective and energy that will enhance our school community. We’re proud to support them as they begin their journey with us and help shape the future of our district.”
The orientation also included opportunities for district leaders and colleagues to share insights and guidance. Board of Education President Stephanie Cogan and Superintendent of Schools Dr. David Perry offered a warm welcome to new staff, while Assistant Superintendent for Instruction Thomas Kachadurian provided an overview of district instructional goals and strategic initiatives. Throughout the week, faculty and staff facilitated presentations and workshops to highlight the departments, services, and educational pathways that define South Colonie.
Students will return to school on Thursday, Sept. 4, to begin the 2025-26 school year.
