Supporting All Students

Special Education Programming at South Colonie

South Colonie provides special education services to support students with a wide range of learning needs. These programs help students learn, grow, and participate fully in school alongside their peers.

Supports are based on each student’s individual needs and outlined in an Individualized Education Program (IEP). Students may receive help in regular classrooms, small groups, or specialized classes, depending on the level of support needed.

The district also offers services such as speech therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, counseling, and assistive technology to support student learning and development. Teachers, specialists, and families work together to monitor progress and adjust supports as needed, with the goal of helping every student feel included, confident, and successful.
