Since the last Board of Education meeting, Board Committees have met. Committee chairpersons will present recommendations to the full Board and/or request clarification on specific issues. Board members who serve as liaisons to district-wide committees will also provide updates at this time.

A. Academic/Athletic Hall of Fame
Mr. Kiehle and Mr. Keane, Co-Chairs of the Committee, will be available to answer questions regarding the Academic/Athletic Hall of Fame Committee meeting held on XXXXXXXX.

B. Policy
Policy 4110 – Student Attendance Calendar (2026–2027)

10. Reports and Recommendations for Action

A. Committee on Special Education
Approval of placements as indicated by Student Support Services.

B. In-Service Courses
Approval of in-service courses as listed in the attached document. Interested staff may register for courses via PD Express.

C. Agreements

  1. Approval of an agreement between BPAS Actuarial and Pension Services, LLC, 706 N. Clinton Street, Syracuse, NY 13204, and South Colonie Central School District for Medicare Part D Service Agreement/Actuarial Attestation, effective July 1, 2026. Cost: $2,950.00.

D. Contracts

  1. Approval of a Special Education Services Contract with Menands Union Free School District for South Colonie Central School District to provide instruction for students with disabilities for the 2025–2026 school year, as per the attached agreement.

E. Medical Agreement
Approval of an agreement with Confidential Screening & Consulting to provide employee physicals required by the district for the remainder of the 2026 school year.

  • Rates: $110 per 19-A physical exam (increase from $95), $100 for General or Sports Physical Exams, $100–$325 for Return to Duty/Fit for Duty Physical Exams.
  • Additional health services are listed in the attached fee schedule.

F. Health & Welfare Contract
Approval of a contract with Niskayuna Central School District for the 2025–2026 school year to provide health and welfare services to two South Colonie resident students attending Saint Kateri Tekakwitha (non-public school).

  • Cost per pupil: $1,054.30
  • Total contract cost: $2,108.60

G. Facilities Use Fee Schedule
Approval of the attached 2026 Facilities Use Fee Schedule.

H. Next Gen Stage 2B Capital Project – Sand Creek Middle School
Acceptance of a proposal from ECS Mid-Atlantic, LLC, 421 New Karner Road, Suite 10, Albany, NY 12205, for a Limited Hazardous Material Survey. Estimated cost: $10,040.00.

I. Tax Refunds
Approval of four refunds payable to Herman Katz, LLP, attorneys for Northway Mall Properties, for the following locations:

  • 1440A Central Ave, Albany, NY 12205 (Tax Map #42.13-1-1.2): $1,171.84 (2025–2026)
  • 1450 Central Ave, Albany, NY 12205 (Tax Map #42.13-3-3): $957.37 (2025–2026)
  • 1440 Central Ave, Albany, NY 12205 (Tax Map #42.13-3-4): $8,725.57 (2023–2024) and $4,553.71 (2025–2026)

J. Claims Auditor / Confirming Purchase Order Report
Approval of the Claims Auditor Report and Confirming PO Report for December 2025.

K. Declare Surplus
Approval to declare the following items as surplus, as they are no longer in working condition:

  • One Xerox Electric Stapler, Model #EH-C5591XA
  • One Adapter, Model #3A-502DA22 (located at Sand Creek Middle School – Office)

L. Donations

  1. Donation from The Huerter Foundation, c/o Thomas Huerter, 10 Shelbourne Drive, Halfmoon, NY 12065: 32 Thanksgiving Turkeys, valued at $25 each.
  2. Donation from Eliakim Littell, 9 Boehringer Road, Greenwich, NY 12834: One Mapex Bell Kit with stand and rolling case, Serial No. 104755, valued at $200.
