Meet South Colonie’s Newest Educators

South Colonie Central School District welcomed 40 new instructional staff members just in time for the start of the 2026-27 school year. Of the new cohort, six of the new employees are proud Colonie alumni.
These new educators went through a comprehensive orientation program aimed at sparking meaningful conversations, opening their eyes to different ideas, and aligning with the district’s core values of Academics, Character, Community, and Wellness.
The program addressed a wide range of topics—from balancing academic rigor with whole-child support to the importance of showing up each day ready to make a difference.
The orientation is organized by Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources and Safe Schools Christopher Robilotti, alongside Veeder Elementary School Principal James Vardaro.
“Welcoming new educators to South Colonie is always a high point for our district,” said Robilotti. “Each new team member brings distinct energy and insight to our schools, and we look forward to supporting them as they make a lasting mark on our district.”

On their first day, Assistant Superintendent for Instruction Thomas Kachadurian provided an overview of district instructional goals and strategic initiatives. The orientation also included opportunities for different district leaders and colleagues to share insights and guidance. Over the two days of the orientation, faculty and staff facilitated presentations and workshops to highlight the departments, services, and educational pathways that define South Colonie.
Students will return to school on Wednesday, September 9, 2026 for the start of the 2026-27 school year.
