South Colonie Unified Basketball Team Victory

The South Colonie Unified Basketball Team delivered an outstanding performance in their Special Olympics NY Section 2 Unified Basketball game. The Wolf Pack's exceptional play on the court showcased the dedication and teamwork that defines the program.
The team's triumph over Schuylerville was amplified by the incredible support from their peers at Colonie Central High School. Before heading to MVP Arena, students lined the halls to cheer on the Unified team as they headed out to their bus. School Resource Officer Ryan Berkery gave the bus a police escort on Raider Boulevard.
At MVP Arena, CCHS staff, students, cheerleaders, and Alpha brought enthusiasm to the matchup and cheered on the Wolf Pack throughout the game.

“Supporting our students in unified sports is about so much more than winning games,” said CCHS Principal Bill Behrle. “It’s about building community, fostering inclusion, and showcasing every student here in Colonie. I couldn’t be prouder of our Wolf Pack and the character they demonstrate both on and off the court.”

Bring On the Spectrum supplied shirts for the CCHS students who attended the match, all of whom have gone through ADAPT training. ADAPT or Actions to Draw All People Together teaches young people about neurodivergent individuals and how to create inclusive communities for everyone.
