Superintendent Perry Inducted into Shenendehowa Athletic Hall of Fame

South Colonie Superintendent of Schools Dr. David Perry was inducted into the Shenendehowa Athletic Hall of Fame Class of 2025 during a ceremony held Thursday, Sept. 25 at the Hilton Garden Inn in Clifton Park.
A 1989 Shenendehowa graduate, Perry excelled in both football and baseball. On the football field, he was a key player in the Plainsmen’s 1987 Section 2 Super Bowl Championship team, which earned a #3 state ranking. He was later named to multiple all-area teams and played in the inaugural Senior Football All-Star Game.
In baseball, Perry was a three-year varsity player and senior captain, helping Shen capture the Suburban Council Blue Division title each season. He went on to play Division I baseball at the U.S. Naval Academy and later became a Division I pitching coach at Siena College. He also played semi-professional baseball in the Northeast League and enjoyed a 21-season career in the Albany Twilight League, where he earned Hall of Fame recognition in 2015.
“Being inducted into the Shen Athletic Hall of Fame is an incredible honor,” Dr. David Perry Superintendent of Schools. “My experiences at Shenendehowa shaped me not only as an athlete but also as a person. The lessons I learned on the field in teamwork, perseverance, and discipline have carried through every stage of my life and career. To be recognized by the community where it all began is truly humbling, and I’m grateful to join such an outstanding group of inductees.”
Perry celebrated his accomplishment alongside other outstanding individuals, with his friends, family, and colleagues who came out to support him.
