Three South Colonie High School students spent part of their summer break at a week-long Pre-Collegiate Pharmacy Camp at Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences.

Emma Mayhew, Autumn Blizinski, and Huzaifa Kabir joined students from throughout the Capital Region and surrounding areas at this specialized camp. 

Throughout the week, students gained insight into the essential role pharmacists play in healthcare. They had hands-on laboratory experiences, took part in simulations, and heard guest lectures from specialists in various fields. The experience also included a visit to the pharmacy at Albany Medical Center. 

“We are so proud of our students who chose to take time out of their summer break to expand their minds and explore their interests,” said Colonie Central High School Principal William Behrle. “Programs like this camp give students a head start on discovering opportunities and achieving their future goals.”

This opportunity provided students with meaningful exposure to the pharmacy field and hands-on experience that will benefit them as they explore potential career paths.
