Teacher Appreciation Week: Update from Superintendent Perry
Dear South Colonie School Community,
It’s hard to believe that May is already here! I continue to be so grateful for the way our South Colonie educators and staff members have continuously worked together to make this another successful school year for our kids and school community.
This week, May 6-10, marks Teacher Appreciation Week. Day in and day out, our teaching staff pour their hearts into crafting lesson plans while fostering environments of safety and belonging for our students. They collaborate tirelessly with parents and caregivers to ensure that each child's educational journey is enriched and supported. In short, they're transforming classrooms into nurturing havens for learning, and for that, we are grateful.
In honor of this week, I am delighted to share that our Board of Education has continued the tradition of hosting breakfasts at each school to express our gratitude for the tireless efforts of our educators. Additionally, our amazing students and PTA groups have coordinated an array of tokens of appreciation lined up for this special week.
See some highlights from this week:

Every moment serves as a reminder of the immense impact our teachers and teacher assistants have on the lives of our students. They provide not just education, but hope, stability, and unwavering attention to the needs of each individual. As our students grow, learn, and innovate, our staff stand as steadfast partners in their journey.
On behalf of the South Colonie Board of Education and our entire school community, I extend a deeply heartfelt message of appreciation to our remarkable teachers and teacher assistants. I invite each of you to join me in honoring their dedication by sharing your gratitude with them not only this week but in the days and weeks to come.
Thank you,
Dr. David Perry
