Board of Education Members Receive Statewide Leadership Recognition

Three members of the South Colonie Central School District Board of Education were recognized for their service and leadership during the Board of Education meeting on Tuesday, May 26, through the New York State School Boards Association (NYSSBA) Board Excellence Recognition Program.
Board Member Michael Keane received the Level 1 Board Achievement Award, Christopher Larrabee earned the Level 2 Board Excellence Award, and Vice President David Kiehle was presented with the Level 4 Lifetime Achievement Award.
The NYSSBA Board Excellence Recognition Program honors board members across New York State for their commitment to professional development, leadership training, and continued service to public education. The program recognizes school board members who dedicate time to strengthening their knowledge and effectiveness in governance on behalf of students, staff, and their communities.
Mr. Kiehle’s Lifetime Achievement Award represents the highest level of recognition within the program and reflects years of dedicated service and ongoing leadership in public education.
“School board service requires an incredible commitment of time, thoughtfulness, and dedication to students and our community,” said Superintendent of Schools Dr. David Perry. “We are grateful for the leadership that Mr. Keane, Mr. Larrabee, and our Vice President Mr. Kiehle continue to provide to South Colonie. These recognitions reflect their ongoing commitment to learning, growth, and strong public education.”
