Colonie Alumni, Community Members Discuss Careers at Roessleville

Community members visited Roessleville Elementary’s fourth grade classrooms to teach students about the many different career paths they could take one day.
Several of the professionals were Colonie alumni. During a large group session in the library, Khyan Gaddy, a Colonie Central High School graduate, told students about his journey from a Colonie student to a small business owner.

“I turned a dream into reality,” Gaddy, owner of BM Restoration, told the students. “If you love your work, you don’t work at all.”
For Gaddy's former first grade teacher, Principal Marybeth Tedisco, seeing him inspire the next generation of students was particularly meaningful.
“I’m so proud of Khyan, who is a former Roessleville student,” said Principal Tedisco. “It means so much that he attended this school, started his own business, and is here today to tell students about that.”
