Forest Park Elementary Students Step Up for Annual Ramadan Food Drive

Forest Park Elementary School is embracing the spirit of compassion and generosity with the return of its annual Ramadan Food Drive. Running through Tuesday, March 10, the initiative is focused on collecting 300 nonperishable food items to support local families during the holy month.
In partnership with the Islamic Center of the Capital District, the drive helps ensure that community members have reliable access to essential groceries as they observe Ramadan and prepare for Eid al-Fitr.
"Ramadan is a time of reflection, gratitude, and giving," said Forest Park Librarian Colleen Kuno. "This food drive is a wonderful opportunity for our students to learn about different traditions while also making a real difference for families right here in our community. I am so proud of how our students always step up to help others."
Through this annual tradition, Forest Park Elementary continues to foster empathy, cultural awareness, and community service, proving to students that every small act of kindness creates a meaningful impact.
