ICARE Students Spread Holiday Cheer at Conners Residence

ICARE students visited the Conners Residence in Albany ahead of the holidays, continuing a yearlong commitment to community service and support for individuals experiencing homelessness.
During the visit, students delivered more than 60 care bags filled with cold-weather essentials and personal care items. The donations, collected over several weeks, will be distributed through the Albany Housing Coalition.
“They’ve really adopted our Conners House this year,” said Sondra Young, Executive Director of the Albany Housing Coalition. “It’s been great for the guys here in the program, great for the students, and great for us as an organization.”
In addition to dropping off donations, ICARE student leaders stayed to prepare a homemade lunch of spaghetti and meatballs for residents.
“We’re just making lunch for them, but for us and for them, it’s just so much bigger than that,” said ICARE President Ceyda Cetin.
All ICARE-sponsored activities this year have directly benefited the Albany Housing Coalition. The group’s next fundraiser, the Mac and Chili Cook-Off, is scheduled for Friday, Jan. 23, 2026, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Colonie Village Family Recreation Center.
