Stewart’s Shops Donates to South Colonie Backpack Program

Stewart’s Shops has donated 100 large egg certificates and 100 half-gallon milk certificates to support the South Colonie Central School District’s Backpack Program. The donation will help provide additional support to families during the ongoing SNAP benefit freeze.
The Backpack Program supplies students and families with food and essential items to ensure they have access to nutritious meals outside of school hours.
“As part of our ongoing efforts to support local collections and family needs, we are truly grateful for community partners like Stewart’s who continue to step up and make a difference,” said Superintendent Dr. David Perry. “Partnerships like this strengthen our ability to care for students beyond the classroom and ensure that families have access to essential resources. Stewart’s long-standing commitment to giving back exemplifies the kind of compassion and collaboration that make Colonie such a strong and connected community.”
Each year, Stewart’s Shops donates more than $12 million to local nonprofits and organizations across its communities. The district is thankful for Stewart’s continued partnership and its commitment to giving back.
