Shaker Road Principal for the Day

When 3rd grader Charleigh Stewart sets out to win a sweepstakes, she’s all in. Take, for instance, the annual Shaker Road Summer Reading Sweepstakes, where the grand prize is the chance to be Principal for a Day. Charleigh not only set her mind on the prize—she won it! (It helps that she absolutely LOVES to read.)
But as the every-other-day principal reminds students: be careful what you wish for! Charleigh quickly found out that the job comes with more than just the title. On her watch, there was a fire drill to oversee, construction projects to check in on, and a sunny day of recess to supervise. She got a real taste of the work behind the crown.
Throughout the day, Charleigh’s smile never faded. She pitched in wherever she could, brightening up the halls and handling student requests with calm and grace. Her cheerful leadership didn’t go unnoticed—students and staff alike admired the way she carried herself.
By the end of the day, Charleigh was happy to return to being a 3rd grader. Still, her friendly and positive spirit left a lasting impression, setting a great example for both students and staff.
Way to go, Principal Stewart!
