South Colonie to offer Free Meals at Sand Creek Middle School this Summer

In an effort to ensure children have access to healthy meals during the summer months, South Colonie will offer free summer meals at Sand Creek Middle School. This program is open to all individuals 18 years old and younger and will run Monday through Thursday, from July 7 to August 21.
Meal Times:
- Breakfast: 7:15 – 8:15 a.m.
- Lunch: 10:45 a.m. – 12:15 p.m.
This is an open site, meaning no registration or ID is required. Children 12 and under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, and all meals must be eaten on site in accordance with program guidelines.
The meals served follow USDA nutrition standards and are part of the USDA-funded Summer Food Service Program, which provides nutritious meals including fruits and/or vegetables, whole grains, protein, and milk.
“Summer can be a hungry time for children who rely on school meals during the year,” said Superintendent of Schools Dr. David Perry. “This program ensures that all kids in our community have access to healthy, nourishing food while school is out. We’re proud to be able to offer this support to families in our community.”
