In a world where small acts of kindness can make a big difference, Colonie Central High School’s ICARE students are once again recognizing those who go above and beyond to spread positivity. Nominations are now open for the Kind Human of the Year award, an annual initiative celebrating individuals who embody the true spirit of kindness.

Recognizing Everyday Kindness

The Kind Human of the Year award was created to honor individuals whose everyday actions inspire and uplift those around them. Whether it’s helping a neighbor in need, brightening someone’s day with a simple gesture, or making a lasting impact in the Colonie community, this award seeks to highlight those who make kindness a priority.

Nomination Criteria

To be considered for the Kind Human of the Year award, nominees must meet the following criteria:

• Member of the Colonie Community: This individual must be a member of the Colonie community in some capacity. They can live, work, attend school, or play a significant role in the Colonie community.
• Consistent Acts of Kindness: This individual must have demonstrated ongoing efforts to help others through small everyday acts of kindness or long-term projects.
• Positive Community Impact: Their actions should make a noticeable difference in their community or workplace. This can include volunteering, charitable works, or any acts of service. This individual must go above and beyond their job requirements and daily expectations.
• Inspiration to Others: This person should inspire others to engage in acts of kindness themselves, serving as a role model for others in their own kindness, humility, and generosity.

Nominations will be accepted until Friday, April 11, and the selected individual will be recognized at PackFest on Saturday, May 17, during the event’s opening ceremony.

"Yet, every year, we find more and more people deserving of this award. We love seeing the nominations and having the chance to bring these individuals 

and their kindness to the forefront so they can be celebrated."
