2024-25 Board Candidates

On Tuesday, May 21, voters in the South Colonie Central School District will elect two board members to fill- two vacancies (each a five-year term). Candidates must meet all of the other requirements to run for the Board.

David Kiehle

David Kiehle, a dedicated member of the South Colonie Board of Education since 2009, seeks reelection. He serves on multiple committees. Kiehle holds advanced degrees in Mathematics Education and Educational Administration. Active in community partnerships, he has contributed significantly to educational and extracurricular activities within the district. Keihl has been a resident of South Colonie for 58 years.

Jen Houlihan

Jen Houlihan is seeking her first term on the South Colonie Board of Education. An educator in the Albany City School District, Houhilan stays active with the South Colonie school community through her leadership roles with PTA. In addition to volunteering at school events, she also serves on several districtwide committees. Houlihan has been a resident for 17 years and has two children who attend South Colonie schools.

Eric McDowell

Eric McDowell, president of The Eric Idea Agency, seeks his first term on the South Colonie Board of Education. With a background in public relations and event management, McDowell is also active in the Lisha Kill PTA and serves on the Colonie Central High School Athletic Hall of Fame Committee. Additionally, he founded the Capital District Sports Women of the Year program, recognizing outstanding student-athletes. McDowell has been a resident of the South Colonie district for 18 years and has a child attending South Colonie schools.
