Colonie Central High School inductrf two new members into its Hall of Fame during 2009 commencement exercises on June 26 at the Empire State Plaza. The newest inductees are Dr. Neil J. Belgiano (Class of 1967) and Mary Ann Chesky (Class of 1984).

South Colonie Central School District residents went to the polls on Tuesday, May 19th and approved an $88.6 million budget for the 2009-10 school year by a vote of 1,495-692. They also elected James “Tim” Ryan and David Kiehle to the Board of Education.

South Colonie Central School District residents elected incumbent James “Tim” Ryan and newcomer David Kiehle to the Board of Education on May 19th. They will both begin serving new five-year terms on July 1.

The South Colonie Central School District has once again been recognized for doing its part to help save the environment. T.A. Predel Recycling Co. presented special recycling achievement awards to personnel from six schools and the District Office at the Board of Education meeting in March. Since the district expanded its recycling efforts with T.A. Predel less than a year ago to include cardboard and office paper, nearly 20 tons of paper waste has been divert from the Colonie landfill.
