Veterans Day Message from Superintendent Perry

As we approach Veterans Day on Nov. 11  let’s come together to honor and express our gratitude to the veterans who have selflessly served our nation. Please take a moment to read the message below from Dr. Perry, Superintendent of Schools.

Dear South Colonie School Community,

With Veterans Day approaching, I encourage each of you to reflect on the sacrifices made by the men and women of the United States armed forces. These individuals, whom we honor, are ordinary people who have shown extraordinary courage, pride, integrity, determination, and selflessness in their commitment to duty. Their dedication allows them to serve a cause greater than themselves.

I extend my heartfelt thanks to our staff members whose spouses, partners, or children are veterans or currently serving. Your support is invaluable, and having served in the U.S. Navy, I deeply appreciate the embodiment of timeless values such as Duty, Honor, and Country that you represent. You have my utmost respect and gratitude.

To our Board of Education, parents, community members, volunteers, and supporters who have served, thank you for your service and the sacrifices you’ve made. Each of you deserves our appreciation for contributing to the defense of our freedom. It is through the efforts of patriots like you, and your families, that we can enjoy the freedoms we often take for granted.

Proudly Colonie,

Dr. David Perry
Superintendent of Schools
