Veeder Boosterthon Fun Run a Huge Success

Yee-ha! Veeder Elementary School held its second annual Boosterthon Fun Run, aka the Dr. Hoot’s Scoot, on Oct. 11 with a Wild, West theme.

This was another amazing event and showed the true spirit of the Veeder school community. From our local sponsors: Backyard Fence, Ellis Medicine, Hoffman’s Car Wash, The Jeffrey Keith Team, Martel’s Grill & Bar, Northco Standard Copy, 518 Realty, CM Fox and Mens Inc.- to the students and their supportive parents and donors, along with the enthusiastic teachers and staff that helped the PTA pull the event together. Dr. Hoot’s Scoot proudly brought in our $20,000 goal plus some to be able to give back to our Veeder students.

All 50 states were represented by donations allowing a surprise new sheriff to enter those, there parts during a shindig on Oct. 24. More than 315 students registered out of our 415 student population and not one student ran alone. To watch these students kinship and support one another, cheer each other on and to see teachers jump in and run a lap or do the Macarena to encourage their students was all we needed to call this Dr. Hoot’s Scoot a resounding success! Thank you again to the everyone, including those dedicated PTA committee members that made this day possible.
