Teacher Appreciation Week – A Message from Dr. Perry, Superintendent

This message was emailed to teachers on Monday, May 5 at 8:47 a.m.

This is our week to honor the incredible team of teachers that we are so blessed to have in South Colonie.

We truly appreciate the meaningful work that our teachers do every day, not just during this week where the accomplishments of teachers are celebrated in classrooms all across our district, state, and nation.

I am reminded every single day that South Colonie’s teachers are dedicated to the success of each and every child.  They provide hope to the most needy young citizens in our community.  They provide stability in attitude and attention to every detail of a child’s life and they understand the profound influence they have on the lives of kids. South Colonie School District’s teachers are meaningful partners in the raising of our community’s children.

On behalf of the school board and this great community, it is my privilege to extend a heartfelt message of gratitude for the work that our teachers do.  It is true that teaching is a calling, not a profession, and I am so honored that our teachers have chosen South Colonie as a place to make a difference in the lives of others.

I encourage our community and school district to join me in appreciating our teachers this week and in the weeks and years to come.

Thank you,

David Perry
