The harmonious sounds of the South Colonie Music Department are set to fill the air once again as they present the much-anticipated annual Faculty Recital on Thursday, Nov. 16, at 7 p.m in the Mark Cornell Auditorium at Colonie Central High School.
This recital is set to showcase the remarkable talent of not only our dedicated music teachers, but also our students and renowned special guests. With a diverse set ranging from classical symphonies to jazz improvisations, from timeless pop classics to the old melodies of Broadway, the performance will cater to a wide spectrum of musical genres.
In the true spirit of the district’s 75th anniversary, this event takes on a special significance, commemorating 75 years of great music-making in South Colonie. The recital will also feature the return of some alumni.
Donations will be collected at the door- $5 for individuals or $10 for an entire family. All proceeds will benefit the Music Department Scholarship fund for graduating seniors.
To celebrate the event,, the South Colonie Friends of Music will be hosting an informal reception,immediately following the performance.
