Meet Liz

As a little girl, I was lucky enough to have a mom as a teacher.  I watched her build relationships with her students and their families. She was and still is an amazing role model. As a 6th grade teacher, she was always engaging students in exciting ways. I fondly remember helping to decorate her classroom in August for her new students and helping her with other teacher duties.  I just knew I wanted to be a teacher when I grew up.

Fast forward to now, I’d like to think I’ve followed in my mom’s footsteps.  Engaging students and their families through creating community building videos for Lisha Kill like our Lip Dubs and multiple videos shared during distance learning to make us stronger together.  I’m lucky enough to work in a building with amazing colleagues and this drives me forward each day to be the best teacher I can be.  As a Google Certified educator, I’ve been sharing my technology knowledge to help my students and colleagues— because together we can do anything!

I have a love of learning that I share with my students.   We learn about each other and new things in fun ways.  Just the other day a student said to me “I love math with you”, my heart melted.  Finding ways to make learning exciting and engaging is my goal.  We all learn in different ways and getting to know each other helps to make learning more accessible for everyone.  Seeing students work through tough things and watching those lightbulbs go off is so rewarding.
