The Sand Creek Middle School gymnasium was alive March 9 with sights, sounds and flavors from around the world as families, teachers and community members came together to celebrate the diversity of cultures that make up our student body. The 2018 Multicultural Festival included over 35 family-run culture booths offering food samples, informational displays and demonstrations. In addition, a variety of local ethnic restaurants donated food for the event and many community-based cultural organizations hosted informational booths to spread the word about cultural programs and resources available locally. This year’s festival also included a variety of cultural performances, a colorful International Fashion Show and culminated with an open-floor Latin dance. Plans are already in the works for next year’s celebration!
