South Colonie celebrates summer graduates

South Colonie district officials, board members, administrators and teachers gathered on August 18 to celebrate Kishere Brooks and Nina Washington, who graduated high school through the summer school program. The two students were joined by their families as they received their high school diplomas from Summer School Principal Nora Sullivan.

CCHS Associate Principal Stephanie Luce and Superintendent Dr. David Perry each offered remarks, and Summer School Vice Principal James Haertel performed the South Colonie alma mater.

“It is with a tremendous amount of pride and pleasure that I wish our summer graduates and members of the Colonie Central High School Class of 2022 congratulations,” said Dr. David Perry, Superintendent of Schools. “It was an honor to celebrate with each of you today and to take this opportunity to reflect on your accomplishments and to prepare for future opportunities that lie ahead.”

Added Perry, “You have demonstrated respect, pride and determination as you navigated the years that got you to this place but more importantly the very challenging last several months. On behalf of the Board of Education and the South Colonie Central School District, congratulations on earning your high school diplomas.”
