Shaker Road students experience Antarctica

The second grade students at Shaker Road had a special presentation on Friday, Jan. 31 from Mr. Matthew Barnes, an engineer who visited Antarctica a few years ago.

The students have been learning about the polar regions of the world.  Mr. Barnes shared his personal experience with the students. His presentation featured amazing photographs showing the harsh conditions in Antarctica,  as well as the beautiful wildlife that is able to survive there. Mr. Barnes even brought some of the actual gear that was worn in Antarctica. The students enjoyed it.  Thanks Mr. Barnes for visiting Shaker Road!
