School Board Recognition Week set for Oct. 19-23

Monday, Oct. 19 marks the beginning of School Board Recognition Week, a week-long celebration that promotes the awareness and understanding of the important work performed by school board members. The South Colonie Central School District is joining all public school districts across the state to celebrate School Board Recognition Week to honor local board members for their commitment and dedication to the South Colonie school community. 

“School board members give members of the South Colonie community a voice in education decision making. “ said Superintendent of Schools Dr. David Perry. “They devote countless hours supporting our students and working through issues that impact the educational experience for our students and staff. It is a privilege to work alongside such committed individuals who have a passion for improving the educational experience for all.”

In celebration of this week, the South Colonie School District would like to recognize the following individuals for their service to the school community:

    • Rose Gigliello, President, eight years of service
    • Brian Casey, Vice President, 15 years of service
    • Stephanie Cogan, two years of service
    • Colleen Gizzi, two years of service
    • Neil Johanning, 15 years of service
    • Mike Keane, one year of service
    • David Kiehle, 11 years of service
    • James “Tim” Ryan, 26 years of service
    • Ed Sim, nine years of service
