South Colonie Central School District is proud to announce the outstanding achievements of three Sand Creek teams who competed in the Utica KidWind competition on Tuesday, March 12.

Eighth graders Yubraj Yadav and Abel Renjith, known as “The 2 Dominators,” soared to victory by securing first place in the competition. Their impressive performance has earned them an invitation to compete in the KidWind World competition, which will take place in May in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Following closely behind, seventh graders Tristan Murphy, Alex Kidder, Carter Sloan, and Isaiah Madubansi, known as “The Speedy Spinners,” secured the second-place position with their innovative wind turbine design.

Rounding up the success, another group of seventh graders, known as “The Flying Pickles,” comprising Lewis White, Jameson Hynes, David Clary, Kara Stolicky, and Joe Brunetto, clinched the third-place spot with their efforts.

The competition showcased the creativity, teamwork, and dedication of these Sand Creek students, highlighting their commitment to excellence in the field of renewable energy.
