Childcare Resources in the Region

As the nation continues to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic, emergency childcare services are still available for families. 

The New York State Office of Children and Family Services may be able to help you find the childcare program you need

Additionally, the Child Care Resource and Referral Agency (CCRR) is a great resource for childcare in the Capital Region. Contact BrightsideUp (formerly the Capital District Child Care Council),  518-426-7181, for more information.


School-Age Childcare Resources

Before and After Care

South Colonie Central School District is offering before and aftercare in conjunction with the Colonie Youth Center (CYC) Program.  More details can be found here.

Child Care for Essential Workers 

South Colonie Central School District and several area school districts are working in conjunction with Colonie Youth Center(CYC), the YMCA, and other providers to find open placements for families of essential health care workers and first responders.

Essential health care workers may include licensed health professionals such as physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, pharmacists, registered nurses, LPNs and nurse assistants or laboratory personnel. First responders may include paramedics, emergency medical technicians, police officers, and firefighters.

Childcare for Non-School Age Children
