Local TV anchor and columnist John Gray visits Roessleveille Elementary

Students gathered in the cafeteria at Roessleveille Elementary on Thursday, Feb. 13 waiting patiently for local TV anchor and columnist John Gray to share his story.

Gray spent the morning with the students reading his book “Keller’s Heart” which depicts an important message that it is okay to be different and everyone needs a friend. A warm-hearted book for children of all ages, the story of Keller’s Heart comes from an inspirational dog that Gray adopted.

Gray encouraged the students at Roessleveille to accept people even if they are different from you.  After listening to the story, the students got the chance to ask him questions about him and his dog Keller.

Leading up to the visit from Gray, the students at Roessleville collected donations in support of Free to Be Me Rescue, an organization whose mission is to never say no to a pet in need. A few lucky students got the opportunity to present a check to Gray in the amount of $1,000.
