Lisha Kill 7th graders experience service learning

Mr. Obermayer’s 7th grade social studies students are currently learning about the formation of the U.S. government.  A component of our Constitution is citizenship.  As a service learning project, each student made a “sock penguin” to give to a family member for Valentine’s Day.  In addition, the students made hearts for the residents at the Bishop Broderick Apartments to spread Valentine cheer.

Students experienced the joy of helping others and understood the power of
volunteerism.

Shoutout to Mrs. Penny Bartlett and Mrs. Kristen Obermayer for all of their help in preparation and construction of the sock penguin!
