Caleb Eastman honored as Scholar-Athlete winner

Colonie Central High School’s senior quarterback, Caleb Eastman, has been awarded Scholar-Athlete Overall Winner by the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame for the year 2023. The recognition was announced during the organization’s annual recognition luncheon held at the Polish-American Community Center on Washington Avenue Extension in Albany.

The National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame’s event, which took place on Sunday, March 10, saw over 50 high school and college scholar-athletes from across the Capital District being honored.

The selection process for the Overall Award winners is rigorous, with the Executive Committee carefully reviewing high school nominees before choosing 11 outstanding individuals.

“This achievement serves as a testament to Eastman’s dedication, hard work, and commitment to excellence,” said Coach Greg  Bearup. “Not only does it reflect his personal accomplishments, but it also brings immense pride to his family, the Colonie High School football program, the school itself, and the entire South Colonie community. Caleb’s talent is not only a reflection of his individual talent but also a source of inspiration for student-athletes across the region. Well done, Caleb!”
