Seven student musicians from Colonie High School attended the prestigious Area All-State Music Festival on November 17 and 18.  This year’s music festival was held at the beautiful historic Proctor’s Theater in downtown Schenectady.
Hosted by NYSSMA, the music festival featured nearly 400 talented students from a 50-mile radius.  The Colonie High School students were chosen based on high scores from last year’s NYSSMA solos and recommendations by their music teachers, and performed in the Area All-State Band and Orchestra. They rehearsed under the direction of guest conductors from SUNY Fredonia and the Eastman School of Music and presented a concert of advanced musical difficulty.
