Colonie Central High School recently welcomed Colonie families on Tuesday, May 18 to help celebrate 11 senior athletes that signed their National Letter of Intent to play sports at the collegiate level. Representing seven different sports and nine different colleges, the graduating Raider athletes were optimistic and ready to begin the next chapter of their academic and athletic careers.

“We are proud to highlight the following Colonie athletes as they head off to college,” said Joseph Guardino, South Colonie athletic director. “ Athletics is a big part of their lives and this is one of the ways their efforts are recognized.   It’s great to celebrate all the hard work they have put into their sport and Colonie Athletics. I wish our athletes nothing but the best for the next phase of their academic and athletic endeavors.”

Athletes were decked out in their college gear.  Each student-athlete was allowed to take the mic for a few brief words. Most thanked their families for all the years of support and encouragement.

Congratulations to following Colonie Athletes!
