CCHS Student earns prestigious UAlbany Award for College

CCHS student Alexa Taleporos has been recognized for her exceptional leadership qualities and remarkable service experiences by receiving the prestigious Capital District Leadership Award from the University at Albany.

Established four years ago, the Capital District Leadership Award scholarship was introduced by UAlbany to honor students who exhibit outstanding leadership skills and a dedicated commitment to service. Following a thorough selection process that included interviews with finalists, Taleporos emerged as a standout candidate for this esteemed award. Taleporos was among the ten students chosen as Capital District leaders, receiving a substantial award of $7,000 per year.

“Alex’s designation as a recipient of the Capital District Leadership Award underscores her outstanding leadership abilities and unwavering dedication to service,”said Thomas Kachadurian,executive principal. “We’ve witnessed her growth during her time here, and while we’ll miss her presence, we eagerly anticipate the impact she’ll make as she begins on her college journey.”

The selection committee was deeply inspired by the essays and recommendations submitted by all applicants, highlighting their remarkable achievements and dedication to making a positive impact in their communities.
