Colonie Summer Football Camp

When: July 22-25. 5-8 p.m.  Early Monday check-in at 4:15 p.m. at Roessleville Parking Lot
Where: Roessleville Practice Football Field and Colonie Athletic Facility
Cost: $50 per player
Registration: All participants MUST register online by July 18 at http://www.coloniefootball.org/

Boys and Girls Summer ‘Need For Speed’ Camp

When: Camp No. 1 is July 15-19. Camp No. 2 is July 22-26. Both camps run 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Where: Colonie Central High School
Cost: $200 per camper – $175 per camper family discount. Fee includes T-shirt and informational packet.

The camp is designed to teach and practice the fundamentals necessary to improve strength, speed, agility and flexibility. All campers ages 8-19 will engage in speed drills, sample workouts, flexibility sessions, instructional videos, nutritional information lectures and video analysis. Athletes will engage in assistance and resistance workouts, speed ladder drills, plyometric exercises and form-running drills using biomechanical principles. Two hours will focus on improving upper and lower body strength, core strength and flexibility to help prevent injury. An additional two hours will be dedicated toward speed enhancing, agility, balance and coordination. Participants ages 8-13 will for the most part, use their body weight for the weight training sessions, whereas ages 14-19 will be involved in weight training workouts.

Who: Open to girls entering grades 2-8 during the 2019-20 school year
When: July 29 to August 2, 9 a.m. to noon
Where: Colonie Central High School and Roessleville Elementary School
Cost: $100

This girls day camp will focus on FUN-amentals and skills. Basic skills and techniques will be covered daily. Players will learn and practice post moves, rebounding, shooting, passing and footwork. Guards will focus on ball handing, passing, shooting, decision making, moves with the ball, etc. Position special skills will be addressed. Our goal is for every player to sharpen the skills they learn throughout the week through organized drills and scrimmages. Games will be played and several awards will be given out at each level. All girls receive a free camp shirt and basketball.

Girls Summer Soccer Camp

When: July 22-25 (Monday to Thursday), 9 a.m. to noon
Where: Lisha Kill Sports Complex (Consaul Road)
Equipment: Shin guards, cleats, soccer ball and a water bottle
Cost: $125

This camp will serve as a preseason preparation camp for the Colonie Central High School soccer team. The camp will provide a safe and challenging atmosphere where team bonding, fitness, functional training and competitive matches can take place with the goal of preparation for the fall season. Staff includes CCHS Varsity Girls Soccer Coaches Ryan Edson and Marissa Shibley and CCHS Junior Varsity Girls Soccer Coach Cassidy Bruen.

volleyballGirls Summer Volleyball Camp

Who: Open to girls entering grades 6-10 during the 2019-20 school year
When: July 29 to August 2, 1-4 p.m.
Where: Colonie Central High School
Cost: $150 includes the price of a ball
Registration: Register by July 22

The Colonie Volleyball Camp’s purpose is to build confidence, sharpen technical skills and improve game play, while encouraging interest, passion and enjoyment for the sport. There will be an emphasis on individual evaluation and development with the use of age appropriate instruction. Coaches will create a positive learning environment which enables all players to advance their skills and realize their potential to play at the next level. Maximum participation is always a high priority.
