Foundations in Art

These art drawings are from students in Patrick Kelley's Foundations in Art class at Colonie Central High School. These are some cubist-style artworks inspired by Charles Demuth painting the number 5 in gold. They are made with colored pencils and markers. Foundations in Art is offered to CCHS students in grades 9-12 and is the only Art offering that satisfies the Art/Music requirement for graduation. This is a survey course that covers the range of art mediums. Students explore broad areas of drawing, painting, two and three dimensional design. The course encourages students to increase their powers of observation and their ability to think creatively.
