Advanced Studio in Drawing and Painting
This photo/art gallery features Landscape Paintings by high school students from the Advanced Studios in Drawing and Painting class taught at by Thomasa Nielsen. The students have an art history component to this class. Various styles and artists are studied. The paintings shown here are influenced by the style and thematic choices of Northern Baroque artist Jacob Ruisdael. Overall, this course focuses on mastery of drawing and painting, along with developing an understanding of how Renaissance and Baroque art styles have influenced the development of painting. Students develop a thorough knowledge of the steps involved in designing original work. Students use online and digital resources in their work. The primary mediums used in this course are pencil, watercolor and acrylic. In this course, students develop a college entry portfolio.
