Colonie Central High School held a Multicultural Celebration in May. This event lived up to its name in that it was truly a celebration of South Colonie's diverse student body. The celebration was very well attended by students, teachers and administrators all of whom mingled with one another eating good food, listening to international music and watching lively cultural performances. The celebration was organized by the Human Relations club, whose mission is both to educate and to celebrate. The district's philosophy is to educate students about different cultures so that they can better understand one another. It also seeks to promote the celebration and appreciation of diversity in our schools. This event enabled us to do both at once. Students had the opportunity to share pictures, artifacts and information about their heritage country and had fun with food, music and dance.
