Veeder Penny Harvest Program Off to a Great Start
Veeder Elementary School's annual Penny Harvest program is off to a great start!
The Penny Harvest is a program that turns pennies into dollars and dollars into deeds. Children learn how to be philanthropists, and share their time, talent and treasure in order to benefit the community. For six weeks, Veeder students collect their pennies and bring them into school. They later form a group and pick which charities they will donate them to.
Students and staff are bringing in their pennies and the jars are filling up! Mr. Perrott's class brought in 30 pounds of pennies and Mr. Thompson's class brought in 35 pounds of pennies. The third grade jar is about to overflow! As of October 28, third grade has collected the most pennies. Which grade level will bring in the most pennies?
