Sand Creek Teachers Attend STEM Digital Conference
Sand Creek Middle School teachers Jim Brown, Ray Szczerba and Stacey Sebert attended a STEM Digital Conference in July at UMASS Amherst.
During this time they learned how to use digital software to analyze data collected in labs. All three worked with the program to measure the velocity and acceleration of falling objects, measure the amount of ozone in the air, measure the amount of arsenic in things such as water and rice as well as measuring the amount of leaching of different types of leaves.
On the right is a picture of the three
teachers at the UMASS "Stonehenge" Sun Wheel. The Sun Wheel was
created to show the different paths of the sun and the moon
throughout the year. Rocks are placed in the position of
sunrise, sunset, moonrise and moonset during the different times
of year.
