Team Collects Supplies to Help Flood Victims of Schoharie County
Posted October 11, 2011
Students from Sand Creek Middle School's 7th grade Meteorite team have been learning about caring, one of the pillars of Character Education.
The students decided to collect school supplies to donate to the victims of Hurricane Irene. More than 14 boxes of materials, from pencils to binders, were collected. Schools in the Schoharie County area including Schoharie and Middleburgh lost many of their school supplies due to flooding so the supplies collected will really help them out.
The Meteorite team is grateful to be able to help out another school in need. Thank you to those that donated.
South Colonie, as a school community, also collected non-perishable items, cleanup supplies, computers and computer stations for these schools and families during October.
