The date of the Colonie Central High School Winter Ball has been changed to Saturday, February 11, 7-10 p.m., in the MUG.

Sign Up Today For An Upcoming FAFSA Workshop

CCHS seniors and their parents are invited to an FAFSA financial aid workshop at 6:30 p.m. on February 8 or March 7 in Room 162. Financial aid advisors will assist in completing the FAFSA online. CCHS Collecting Jeans For Homeless Teens

Colonie Central High School is participating in the Jeans For Teens program, collecting jeans and khakis (in good condition) that will be donated to homeless teens. Collection boxes are set up at the school until February 10. For more information, click here (pdf).

Support CCHS Softball by Dining at Chili's February 9th

You can help support the Colonie Central High School Softball program by dining at Chili's restaurant on Wolf Road on February 9, noon to 11 p.m. Present this coupon (pdf) and Chili's will donate 10 percent of your total bill to CCHS Softball. Coasters For A Cause Great Escape Fundraiser

Once again Colonie Central High School Class of 2014 has teamed up with the Great Escape to provide Coasters for a Cause admission tickets at a reduced cost. The cost this year is $22.90. That’s a $27 savings! You can also upgrade your ticket to a season pass for an additional $34.99 + tax or purchase a special C’Mon Back ticket for $20 + tax, at various retail locations throughout the park using your Coasters for a Cause ticket stub. Colonie Central High School’s Technology Department has one of the most diverse selections of course offerings in the state. Between now and 2018, the industries harboring the greatest projected job growth are primarily those with some sort of connection to technology or require technological literacy. full story

CEO Says Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) Are Ticket to Good Jobs And to America’s Prosperity

Over the past decade, STEM job openings grew three times faster than non-STEM jobs. STEM workers are expected to earn, on average, 26 percent more than their non-STEM counterparts. Even among workers with a high school diploma or less, those with STEM proficiency will earn, on average, 36 percent more than those without it. Last year, when the unemployment rate reached 10 percent, STEM unemployment remained at 5.3 percent. full story
