CCHS Honors Senior Athletes, Welcomes David Gamble Home

David Gamble, 1988 Colonie High graduate, football, basketball, and track star, spoke at halftime of the Guilderland vs. Colonie High boys basketball game on Feb. 9 as part of the NFL’s celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the Super Bowl.

Gamble played wide receiver for the 1998 Super Bowl champion Denver Broncos, who were crowned NFL champions again on this year. Gamble was signed by the Broncos in 1997, and went on to win Super Bowl XXXII. During his NFL tenure, he played backup receiver and was a significant contributor on special teams.

Gamble's professional football career ended in November 1998 after one season as wide receiver and special teams player for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the Canadian Football League. He was assistant coach for the Siena College football program from 1999-2002.

During Gamble's return home, it was also senior night for CCHS male basketball athletes and CCHS cheerleaders. Congratulations to players Jordan Miller, Zeqyese Austin and Michael Jeffers, and cheerleaders Kristina Desantis, Amy Lorenz, Michaela Mullen, Emily Pinckney, Allie Pizzemento, Ayssa Shea Jill Stey, Kara Teator and Brittany Vido.
