Free Reading Resources for Children, Teens and Adults
Read.gov, from the U.S. Library of Congress, is an online portal of free reading resources for children, teens and even adults. It features online versions of out-of-copyright books for children, including “Mother Goose,” “The Arabian Nights,” “The Secret Garden,” “A Christmas Carol,” “The Raven,” and other classics. It also provides webcasts of authors, such as “Twilight” author Stephenie Meyer, as well as writing contests, suggested booklists, teaching resources, and more. For more information, click here.

South Colonie follows the style guidelines of the Modern Language Association. South Colonie's Student Research Guide (pdf) is designed to help students be successful in writing a research paper. The South Colonie Central School District subscribes to numerous Internet accessible information databases for all age levels. These are available to all district residents by obtaining a password from the librarian, which will allow you to access the list of all district-funded database passwords. Pathfinders are guides created by South Colonie librarians intended to help students get started investigating a particular topic. More specifically, Pathfinders are pages that offer students selected resources in a variety of media on a topic they are researching.
