Music Students Participate in Area All-State Music Festival

Eighteen Colonie Central High School music students were selected to perform at the New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA) Area All-State Music Festival on November 18 and 19 at Saratoga Springs High School.
Students were selected based on their high scores on an adjudicated NYSSMA solo last spring and teacher recommendation.
The participants performed alongside other talented high school students from a 50-mile radius. After a weekend of intensive rehearsals led by nationally-recognized conductors, the students presented a concert showcasing their achievements.
Performing with the band were Courtney Benoit (flute), Tristen Jarvis (string bass), Ashley Loggins (French horn), Kelley Murphy (Trumpet), and Eugene O'Brien (Percussion). Performing with the chorus were Bridget Boland (Alto) and David Peer (Tenor). Performing with the orchestra were Dorothy Bellas (violin), Emily Finlan (cello), Julianna Gigliello (violin), Abigail Hutton (violin), Amelia Jones (trombone), Samantha King (cello), Katie McManus (violin), Jacquelyn O'Brien (viola), Nicole Ralbovsky (horn), and Kelly Walter (horn). Dan Denette (Alto sax) performed with the jazz band.
