

Shelle E. Jaquish, of 26 Oliver
Street, has served on the school board since 2003. Her term
expires on June 30, 2013. She has lived
in the South Colonie Central School District for about 40 years.
Jaquish worked as an assistant in Special Education at
Roessleville Elementary and Sand Creek Middle School from 1977
to 1985. She has completed several years of college courses in
education at the College of Saint Rose and Schenectady County
Community College and is pursuing a degree in education. She
worked for the New York State Lottery for 11 years, before
accepting a position at New York State Agriculture and Markets.
Jaquish has one daughter, Cashell, who attended South Colonie Schools and is a graduate of Colonie Central High School. Cashell earned a PhD from Washington University in St. Louis and now works in research at the National Institute of Health in Washington, D.C., where she successfully heads several heart and blood study programs in the United States and Asia.
A former PTA president at Maywood
Elementary School, Jaquish is also a former member of the Midway
Fire Department Auxiliary and a communicant of St. Clare’s
Church. She has been very involved in church activities over the
years serving on the Parish Council and the Social Concerns
Committee. She was also a facilitator of St. Clare’s Divorced
and Separated Group. She is currently teaching religious
education classes for seventh graders.
