The Duck Parade" is a post modern art project involving all Colonie Central High School freshman art students each year. "The Duck Parade" is modeled after "The Cow Parade for Charity" and has been part of the high school art curriculum for more than 10 years. Students are encouraged to be creative (think outside the box) and relate their projects to popular culture through a duck art theme. full story

Colonie Central High School art students had an opportunity to visit some of the famous art museums in New York City this spring like The Cloisters and The Metropolitan Museum of Art. The classes that went were HVCC Art History, Advanced Studio in Drawing and Painting, and Directed Studio in Art.

Thomasa Dwyer Nielsen, Colonie Central High School art teacher, art coordinator and teacher mentor coordinator, regularly shows her work as a local artist. During the last 11 months she has been featured in about a dozen art shows, while being the featured artist in one. This photo is from the show where she was the featured artist.
